I was locked out!

Sometimes the things I do even amaze me. So here’s the thing… The puppies have figured out how to open the door, if it is not dead bolted. We leave the door knob unlocked to keep from locking ourselves out. (You see, even when the door knob is locked the handle turns on the inside the same as if it is unlocked, needless to say we have locked ourselves out many times.) So… The puppies always try and turn the handle, which can be VERY annoying. So it is 11:00 at night. I am trying to read a book and get sleepy, but the puppies are making this very hard because they are trying to turn the handle all the time. So I lock the door knob. I even thought ahead this time a left a note on the door saying and I quote “The door knob is locked! Don’t lock yourself out.” So I go on reading thinking this will solve everything. However, the dogs started barking like crazy. So what does my bright, intelligent self do? I walk right on out there to see what they are barking about and try to hush them up. Oh yes, with the note on the door and all, I walk straight out there and shut the door behind me. Only when I try to come back in do I realize that I had locked the door. I could only laugh at this point. Its 11:15 now, Michael has been asleep for hours, so I have little hope at this point. So I try standing on the deck and saying Michaels name. All this time keeping the water hose with me to keep the puppies off of me. I try this for awhile and it does not help. I try getting Red to go get Michael for me, but he just looks at me with his head cocked to one side. So then I get then I start throwing pebbles at our bedroom window (Hey, I thought this was a little romantic you know.) None of this works. I am beginning to think I will be staying the night with the puppies. So then I start jumping up and down on the deck making as much noise as I can, and the puppies even helped me with this one. They started throwing toys around on the deck, jumping up and down with me. Hey we were having ourselves a little party. Finally I here Red scratching on the door and I look through the window and see Michael looking more then a little confused. He said “what is all the noise?” I go “I am locked out!” He opens the door, by this point, I am just laughing. I go and wash my hands and by the time I am done, Michael is already back in bed. But hey, I thought it was pretty amusing. Hopefully he will see the humor in this in the morning, after an almost good nights sleep.

Time For Some Tough Love

To say that the puppies had gotten used to walking all over us is an understatement. They have started fighting for "Top Dog" status. We have had to break them up several time. So today I decieded to become the "Top Dog"! We got a sprayer for our water hose, and when they start misbehaving I go out there and spray them with it. I have been doing it all afternoon, and now when I come outside, they keep their distance from me, and if I grab that hose, they stop what they are doing. They had been taking over our deck and tearing everything up. Now if I go out side they all run off the deck as fast as they can. I now feel empowered. When they all run down I go down there and tell them good puppies and pet them, but when they jump on my I give them another squirt! But I think they are learning. They are all giving me the puppy dog eyes, but I am now not effected by them. They will leard to be good puppies, if its the last think I do.

Me and Sammy. Look how big he has gotten!

Me and Quincy before he went to his new home.

Me and Brutus before he went to his new home with Quincy.

All the puppies are getting so big! They look like dogs now and are only 4 months old. They are growing like weeds. But they are all so sweet, and loving. I just wanted to put some pictures up of how big they have gotten.

I got a JOB!

I started working at Best Buy today. We watched videos all moring long. It kinda sucked, but I got through it. Tomorrow I start on the floor training so hopefully that will be a little more fun. I have to be there at 7 am which is gonna hard for me. I used to be a morning person, so hopefully I can become one again. I get a radio head set, which, you know just makes me feel special. Everyone who works there gets one, but it still makes me feel special. Its the little things... I am hoping I like it there ok. So far the people seem pretty nice. And it seems like a pretty laid back place to work. Plus I get a really good discount, that will be awesome come christmas time. If only best buy sold puppy food, it would be the best place to work.

Its been awhile

I am sorry I have no updated in so long. I have no excuses this time. My computer has been working just fine, I have just been lazy. We still have 9 of the puppies in the back yard. But 2 of those are spoken for so when they leave we will have 7 left. Hopefully they will all find good homes too. We have decieded to keep Sammy. He looks and acts a lot like a dog we had that passed away almost 2 years ago. His name was Samson. We decieded we just couldn't let him go. They really do look a lot a like. I am going to put pictures of both of them on here so you all can see how much they look alike. We just can't help but think maybe Samson found a way back to us.

Maggie found a home

Our little girl maggie has found a home! A friend of mine from high school and his soon to be wife decieded they wanted a puppy. They already have a dog they got from the pound his name is Cena. They chose Maggie and I can honestly say she has the best home ever. Cena is very nice to her and they get along great. The lady who lives on the 7 acres came and picked out her puppies. She is taking Sammy, Ollie, Quincy, Brutus, and Charlie. So 5 of the puppies will get to stay together. So we only have 5 left to find homes for. Hopefully we can find them good ones cause if not, they will just have to stay with us. :)

The best picture ever!

I could not believe it. I actually got 4 of the puppies to look at me at the same time! I know its not all 11 but hey 4 out of 11 aint to bad if you ask me. Getting 2 of them to pose for a picture is hard enough. I was just so proud of this picture that I had to post it on here.

The puppies have invaded the house! RUN

Well yesterday we went and got ALL 11 puppies fixed and then took them home to rest. We thought we had the kitchen puppy proofed. I honestly think some of them came inside and laughed at me. They started tearing the place up right of the bat. Well not all of them but a lot of them. I couldnt take pictures while all of them were inside. I was too busy wipping up pee and trying not to go crazy. I swear that in the first hour I wiped up 30 puddles of pee. How 11 puppies can make that much pee I will never know. The puppy pads were a joke, the puppies thought they were toys and tore them to shreads. We then decieded to put the ones that were acting like crazy, terror puppies outside. We kept a good eye on them to make sure they were feeling ok. We knew there was just to much new stuff inside that they wouldn't get any rest. We left the 2 girls in over night. One of the girls, Maggie, had to have a bigger surgery. Her uterus was wrapped around other organs so hers took longer. She seems to be doing fine now though. We have actually found a couple who live on 7 acres and have 5 fenced in who are going to take 3 maybe 4 puppies! She begged me not to let her take all 11, but I can't be held accountable if they are to cute not to take all 11. :) She lives close to us to so we can go visit them when we want to. I am just hoping all of them can find homes like that.

I'm sorry. Its taken me so long to update

I am slacking off, I know. Please don't hate me. :) Well let me start giving you all excuses for my lagging. My computer apparently needed to be cleaned up. So Michael backed up everything that I had saved and wanted to keep and then wiped it clean. However after taking everything off worked picked up and it took awhile for me to be able to get on here again.

Me and Mom got to spend two whole days together while she was off work. Both of them were very good days. The first day we went to the mall go shopping. But then it started pouring down rain so our day kinda got cut short. Then on Friday I realized we needed puppy food yet again. So I decided that I was going to go to Sam's Club to get it. (I can get a much bigger bag there) I called mom and asked her if she wanted to go and she said "sure". I think we spend all morning in Sam's. After we left there we did some running around Jacksonville and then got a text from mom's friend Wendi asking us if we have been evacuated yet. Needless to say we called her back and asked WHY. Turns out there was a chemical spill, it was not bad though they only evacuated a few places. But both of those days were a blast.

Just a day

As you can see I have added some things to my side bar, I am starting to figure out this whole blog thing after all. Today was a busy morning but now at 1:00 I find myself with nothing to do. I went to Vilonia this morning to meet mom and give her my application for a job at ASU Beebe, then we wondered around dollar general for a little while. After I left there I went to walmart, and managed to spend more money than I planned on, which is easy to do. Then I came home, carried everything inside from the car, pet the front yard dogs, we call them Tony and Winston, and came inside to put everything away. Then I went and pet the back yard dogs, then I went down the deck steps and went into what we call, PUPPY LAND! We have to block of the deck to the puppies cause they will get on it and fall off and it a pretty good ways down. It is very hot here today, so I went and got the water hose and sprayed the puppies down so that maybe they would not get to hot. The puppies did not like this to much, there plan for revenge, to jump all over me and get muddy paw prints on my clothes. Needless to say I had paw prints from my shoulders to my heels. So then I had to do a load of laundry. But now I find myself with nothing more to do. So I thought I would get on here and work on my blog a little bit.

Puppies, Puppies and More Puppies

These puppies have had a rough start at life. There mommy got really sick and had to be put to sleep due to an infection. Annie, the mommy, was a stray that came to me and Michael while she was pregnant. She had 11 puppies! 9 boys and 2 girls. They were a little rough looking at first but after spending some time and getting some TLC from grandma and grandpa Johnston they are big and strong and full of play.

The Puppy Pool

We got a pool for the dogs to get in when its hot, to help cool them off. However, the dogs do not see it this way. They see it as a torture device. We have been trying to put them in it so that they can get used to it but so far that is not working. Here are some pictures that we took trying to get them used to the puppy pool

Our 4th of July

Our 4th of July was fun for some of us, however, Red did not think it was very fun. He hates fire works. He spent all night under our bed and would not come out even for food. Molly didn't mind the fireworks though she stayed out there with me while I took pictures of the fireworks. Other than having a scared puppy dog, the night was pretty fun.

Me and Michael live together in Conway Arkansas. We have 3 furry little children. Red, Molly and Yagi.

They are all very good dogs, who have found a good home with us. Red is the one laying on the couch with his tongue out. Molly is the black and white one and Yagi is the little guy laying on the couch, this picture was taken right after he got a bath
